Oh you are in for a treat... you are about to be using one of the only USA made PLA filaments in the world that can also be placed in the dishwasher and won't deform. Maker Filament brand High-Temp PLA is here!! Maker Filament High-Temp PLA is different from other PLA's you have used in the past because our 3D printer PLA filament is made using a trademarked brand of PLA resin that has a Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) of over 125c (250f) so you can use it to print food contact items, 3D printed parts that are around a heat source (think lights and such) or a part that might be used outside, in the car or any other place that high-temperature might be a factor. Maker Filament brand High-Temp PLA extrudes great in nearly every 3D printer on the market today; with no jamming, extra strong finished parts and a low moisture absorption rate compared to the other PLA Filament on the market.
Annealable, say it with me... Annealable LOL - yup had to look that one up... basically just means that you have to "heat something" in order for it to be activated and in this case it means that once you 3D print your newest creation in Maker Filament brand High-Temp PLA you'll want to bake it in the oven for 5-10min or so around 100c (212f) and that will heat treat the part so you can get the maximum heat resistance out of your part.
Recently got this email from Dave B. one of our great clients in response to this video with a genius solution to the annealing process! Check it out below!! ;)

Maker Filament brand High-Temp PLA is also FDA Compliant for Food Contact so you can make food storage containers, mouth guards, pet toys or anything else you might want to be food safe.
So; lets talk about price.... Maker Filament brand High-Temp PLA is only $37.48 for 1KG/ 2.2lbs - Think about that price for a second... some retailers charge you $49 for 1/2 kilo (500g / 1LB) of their High-Temp PLA and you know what... it's all the same raw resin; matter of fact we manufacturer a lot of those same brands for them right here at MakerGeeks as that's a big part of our business, private labeling for other large US based 3D filament and 3D printer companies. So why pay more... cut out the middle man and the fancy packaging and go direct with Maker Geeks and the Maker Filament brand!
As you might know Maker Geeks.com is one, if not the only 3D Printer Retailer in the USA that also makes all it's own filament in house; so we have a lot of flexibility on pricing and the ability to still give you second to none quality (click here to see our process and read about what we are doing here in Springfield, MO) we also source everything from our color to our resin to our spools to even the vacuum seal bags all inside the USA so when we say it's Made in America it is... from top to bottom!
Maker Filament PLA has been and continues to be used daily here at MakerGeeks HQ for all our 3D printing plus we have a great network of large scale industrial users that order and print with 100's of KG of our filament each week so we are always getting nearly real-time feed back from them as well as our 1,000's of Makers like you! Think of Maker Filament more like YOUR Filament... it's your requests, feedback and input that shape the brand and help us to make the best 3D Printer Filament on the market today!
